All the THREES

March 27, 2014 at 21:54 (Uncategorized)

In 3 weeks I will be 33. It is the 3rd Friday in April, and one and eight are nine which divided by 3 is 3. I want to say I have twelve days of leave so it can be divided by 3 but I’ve only got eleven days. BUT ElEvEn – 3 ‘e’s.

I can’t really think of anything significant about 3 though. The only thing that comes to mind is Tri-Force.

Oh wait – the 3rd letter of the alphabet is the first letter of my name 😀 I also have 3 earrings in each ear.

I am one of 3 sisters.

Fairy Tail is in the 3 hundreds.

Most comics are in a 3 x 3 grid.

I’ve been sitting for a few minutes now and I can’t think of anything else.

I really enjoy One Stop English for teaching resources.

BUT it has the clunkiest and most time consuming audio downloading system that I’ve ever encountered.

Click on the audio track and wait for it to load on the page, then wait for it to buffer, then right click to save and then finally download. And you can only do one track at a time. If you do try and do more than one they ALL just hover there – indefinitely, as far as I can tell.

The time consuming part may be because of internet download speeds but it is still annoying.

The Chibi has all her wheels.

The AA dude was really nice and, as anticipated, he had to drive me up to the garage because the tow truck couldn’t get into my road, and the Chibi was parked in as usual so he wouldn’t have been able to get her onto the truck even if he could get into the road. Streets in Obz take special maneuvering and consideration.

Though I did find out that the garage does call outs – next time there is a car situation and it’s not an emergency I’m calling them first. I’m still not happy with the AA either way. The SA AA in fact. The UK AA responded to my tweet and tried to help me, they couldn’t because, you know, different countries and all that – but they tried harder to help me than the local guys.

Ultimately, I think phoning the AA in Jo’burg for a problem in Cape Town is useless. When you talk about Obz to people in CT, they’re all like ‘traffic’, ‘parking issues’, ‘narrow roads’, ‘car drama’. When you say Obz to a caller centre guy in Jo’burg he doesn’t have these thoughts because he don’t know. Also, peak hour calls to Jo’burg are pricey.

I’ve also chained the spare to the car so hopefully this drama is avoided in the future. Now onward with my calm life.

I like a simple life – I strive toward a simple life. On the whole I have a simple life – I have my job, my house and my hobbies.

But sometimes everything goes wrong.

The Chibi has been playing up a bit recently. I’m not a car person but I love the Chibi – reliable, cheap and zippy. Even so, I did delay in taking her to the garage for cash flow reasons – cars are always expensive – ALWAYS~!

And she was expensive but it was necessary work that should get me many more years. But when the mechanic returned her, he rode over some glass and punctured the front tire. He kindly offered to swap it but the spare wasn’t there – it had been stolen. And recently because when I cleaned the back after I finished the paving in the back garden round mid December. I remember seeing the spare – I even cleaned round it. So engine sound but the Chibi is still not going anywhere.

As a paying member of the AA so I called them up but there was nothing they could do at that time because it was after 17h00 – fair enough. They did offer to store the car in a safe location till morning but seeing as I was actually at home and the Chibi was parked in her usual parking space I declined.

I tried phoning before I went to work but they weren’t open yet – roadside assist that has office hours.

Usually I don’t work in the afternoons, but I agreed to some afternoons for some extra cash to pay for the car. This meant that when I got home, it was later afternoon. I called the AA again and was told that a truck would be round in 60 – 70 minutes and the garage closes at 17h00 – things were on track. At 16h30 I called to see what was happening only to be told that it was 120 – 150 minutes, not the 60 – 70 I had been told. So now 16h30 way too late to do anything else in CT traffic, the Chibi still sits outside with a flat.

AA subs, mechanic, peak hour Jo’burg calls (4 in total), time wasted, stress – ALWAYS EXPENSIVE.

Once more…

I blog about manga a fair bit, and mostly about Bleach – a manga I don’t know if I like or not. And I’m going to do it again.

Without question Bleach has some fantastic characters and Tite Kubo can really put together an awesome scene, for example !SPOILER! !SPOILER! But, in general, the story telling is bad.

Do I like Bleach? I cannot answer with a simple yes or no.

But I can say I love Renji.

And Byakuya.

And Hitsugaya.

Also Hisagi.

Ulquiorra as well.

Yumichika too.
