So there is more Bleach and despite my negative thoughts, I’m sort of… curious.  It might be entertaining.

I read more BB Project and Break Blade yesterday.  In some ways not working on them makes them more interesting, in others, it means I have to wait for them like everyone else.  But I enjoy them more this way 🙂

Insane Echo

October 27, 2010 at 08:45 (Uncategorized)

A few bad choices left me insane but I’m right again – phew!  I was playing Cluedo the other evening and noticed the newspaper on the cover of the box is called The Daily Echo – I had a little chuckle to myself.

I’ve not taken antibiotics since I was a toddler and now I’ve had to have two courses back to back – feeling so crap at the moment.

The Stig

October 26, 2010 at 09:44 (Uncategorized)

This last weekend I saw a book called ‘The Man in the White Suit’.  I looked at it for a long time and thought how unsporting.  ‘Who is The Stig?’  Not an entity that knows two incorrect facts about ducks but a racing driver, wow, I would never have guessed that.  I mean really, part of the fun is pretending.

I think Oh Great! is possibly the best mangaka when it comes to fan service or creating things that fans could possible only dream of thinking up.  It seems like every week there’s something new and mad.  I could be more addicted to what he might come up with than with the actual story.

So ill right now and I have an exam on Monday.  If I just keep reading, it will make sense eventually.  I hope…  I also bumped another car yesterday, felt incredibly foolish.

I’m amazed at how often, when dealing with things that began in early 19th Century, I’ll come across completely arbitrary facts about WWII.  For example – Meccano was unavailable for the last two years of the war because the government banned the sale of new or second-hand metal toys.  I think when something is so instrumental in changing society, you can’t help but find it in everything.

I can to a realisation about Japanese yesterday afternoon – I don’t really want to do it anymore.  I had wanted to become a translator but after six years of study I’m still in the basics.  I had though that it was something I could do much later in life, say after retirement, but I’m finding I want to spend my time on other things.  I am still terribly keen on Japan and Japanese, I just… I had an idea and it isn’t working out.  Maybe I pick it up again later, maybe I don’t but right now, I feel quite relieved that it’s no longer this thing I have to organise myself around.

Maybe I’m just being silly but I’m always suspicious of potential employers wanting a ‘recent pic’ with application.  Some ads I can understand, such as ‘dancers, no experience required’ but for others, office positions, it doesn’t sound too good.

Last day for MicFic – need thirty words…

Ignorance is not bliss… It’s annoying to the recipients of your ignorance 😀

Note to self – must be careful with Echo tweets now that people follow me. *ahem*

I’m waiting for confirmation [or decline] of a job.  It’s sounds rather nice and I would really like to give it a go.  It is also literally across the street and takes me three [3] minutes to walk there.  I should know this week but the waiting is wearing on me a little.

I set a date for a Japanese test without having my diary on hand meaning that instead of driving out to HBD, I’ll be writing a vocab test that I have written, and passed, years ago – it’s just too annoying, I have basically no motivation to study for this test.  I also have two exams in November and, currently, the dregs of a cold that just won’t go.  This happens every October though, I just run out of steam for studying and just when there are exams to write – sigh…

Undying manga

October 8, 2010 at 08:59 (Uncategorized)

Bleach is having a two week break before it returns.  But it has ended, it really has but obvious the mangaka thinks not.  It’s going to be like Dragon Ball all over again.

I love horror movies.  I finished 30 Days of Night this morning and just found The Uninvited in the movie folder.   I don’t think I’ll be watching it today though as every time something ‘scary’ happens on the screen I end up coughing and missing stuff – damn flu!

Booked Cirque de Soleil tickets yesterday – whee!!

The Truth

Me: How many snails do you have now?

L:  One, two, three, four, five.  But one is dead.

Me: I know – you killed it.

L:  Yes…  I squashed it with this big rock. [Picks up said rock.]
