Off

I’m got off work early today – yay.  And I’m off tomorrow – yay yay.  So the stuff I was going to do tonight I can do tomorrow.  And then play some FFXII before I leave for my sister’s wedding.

Because of this wedding I won’t be able to get Bleach or Naruto when they come out – have to wait for Sunday.  In addition, I loaned some GBA games; luckily I can take those with me.

Fiction note:  Posted Day Three.

Blugh!

February 27, 2007 at 20:08 (Uncategorized)

Flu, colds whatever – I really hate it.  I hate the dungeon more when I’m ill, I need to find a new job.  I’m fed up with correcting other people’s mistake because they don’t listen or can’t spell – cud/could, wot/what – I’m not joking.  However, being a student I’m limited in my options, the dungeon pays well and I have a bond to pay.  Actually, pay no heed – I’m rambling…

Fiction note:  I don’t know what’s up with FF.net – still not uploading.  Alas, I’m away at my sister’s wedding for the next few days – argh!

Final Fantasy XII

February 26, 2007 at 13:54 (Uncategorized)

L&L got FFXII this weekend and it was purchased this morning.  It is a lot like FFTA but with better graphics; I am not really fond FFTA at all and FFXII has not got off to a good start with my first mark (mission) being a Rogue Tomato.  Which has killed me.   The story is not as linear as I like but at the moment I’m pissed off at being killed by a tomato.

What is nice is being able to choose whether to encounter enemies or not (totally managed to avoid a T-Rex on a level one mission).  The attack mode is different and I’m battling a bit – I panic too quickly, can’t remember what is in what slot and it ends up a mess with me dead.  No one has told me how to block yet but they have told me how to flee – which I have used (not with the T-Rex that was cunning stealth).

Fiction note:  I forgot to add FF.net messing around and not letting me upload Day Three – will try again tonight, if not tomorrow morning.

Gomen.

I’ve been somewhat ill these last few days so no posting has been happening.

We’ve had a few run ins with cockroaches lately – blame went to hunter cat Ludo, who brings them in just to watch Aki-chan jump but it turns out that he is not to blame all the time.  Came home tonight to see a pair of feelers sticking out a small gap next to the bath taps.  It was rather funny but then he moved on to better places.

For those who are interested – Naruto chapter 343 was very good.  Sasuke is back in the story and I am happy.  Now is just the eternal wait for Hagaren.

New pictures at dArt – one original and one fanart.

Fiction note:  Unless there is a power failure or PC explosion – Day Three will be posted tomorrow.

Just thought…

February 21, 2007 at 18:06 (Uncategorized)

After reading Moonflake’s post (what’s in a name) I am reminded of a item I sell in the dungeon – A man bag.  And it’s made of leather, which is skin.

I don’t think I can ever take this item seriously again.

There is news again that Yoshiki (X Japan), Miyavi and Gackt will be forming a band some time this year.   I really don’t see this working as each of them has an ego that opens the doors for them – I doubt they could actually fit in the same room together.  However, if it does work, it could be pretty awesome.

I’m in two minds about making nice lunch for work – if I have nice lunch I tend to eat it at about 10h30/11h00 and have to buy lunch (which defeats the object of making lunch).  But if I make a yukky lunch it’s not very inviting to eat ( and I might then buy lunch anyway).  However, having eaten my lunch today, my Chinese boss phone to say she was making me lunch.  The rice was good, the sauce was odd.  It was like chopped up scrambled egg in fresh tomato sauce.  I ate it though.  My lunch dilemma was solved for the day.

Fiction note:  On the way…

Lazy (not me – well, actually yes me)

February 20, 2007 at 16:33 (Uncategorized)

I had my eyes checked out today – I need glasses even though I can see rather well.  Apparently I have really lazy eyes and they just don’t do a few things that are somewhat important.  I didn’t know this and glasses shall rectify the situation (most likely I’ll get less headaches – YAY).  But I have to wear them for everything – reading, writing, sewing, computer work and PlayStation as well.  Plus, I may need another pair for everything else – so weird considering I don’t need them to see.   Having said that the possibility of the second pair is very small – phew!

The Owner of the dungeon is rather happy with me at the moment so my job is secure again.  Only because I ‘fixed’ their Skype problem – pink jack= pink plug; green jack = green plug.  It really is quite technical all these colours.

Fiction note:  Final edit for Day Three complete yesterday.  Just to proofread but this is waiting on Aki-chan; I’ll give it till Friday, if it’s not done by then I’ll post as is.  The cross over is still sitting there – I have no idea what to do with it.  I need a plot but I’m toying with something that I need to figure out first.  After Day Four I’ve got an idea for a Bleach/FMAlchemist fiction (mangaverse for both, naturally).  It’s still in very early planning stages.  OFs are still on hold.

Tech support

February 16, 2007 at 20:30 (Uncategorized)

I use MSWord and the internet – that is pretty my sole use of my machina.  I foolishly happened to mention at the dungeon today that I have Skype at home; much enthusiasm as I could now tell the others ‘how to do it’.  These are the choice bits from the afternoon…

NT:  Plug it in the back of the computer.  (pause) Yes, that is the big box you turn on in the morning.

NT:  Telephone?  At the end?  You mean the earpiece?  (pause)  You put it in your ear to hear.

X:  Hello  NT:  Hello   X:  Hello, it that you?  NT:  Yes.  X:  Can you hear me?  NT: Yes.

Even with my limited skills, I was doing pretty well.   But I think a ten year could have done just as well.  I’m not actually sure how long I’m going to have this job.  I think it is somehow because I don’t fall over myself when the Owner is there – so what you have a lot of money!  Pretty much everyone I know has more money than me – whatever.  I have more money than others.  Besides while I’m polite at all time, I can’t stand the adulteress scum that she is.  But I shall not go into that rant.

I watched Stranger than fiction the other day (very good) but I couldn’t help feeling really bad about some of the things I put my characters through.

It fits!

February 16, 2007 at 09:20 (Uncategorized)

My sister had her wedding dress made elsewhere and when she collected it – the zip did not zip.  Luckily the seams were wide so I could let the dress out by about 5cm overall.

I found out last night that mashed potato has milk in it?  I did not know this – this explains why my mash never looks right.  And how I can no longer eat proper mash – my version is fine though.  All in all I’ll stick to baking, I like it more.

I’m going to be sewing some belts and an obi this morning and hopefully, I can start the kimono for the shinigami outfit; then put it on my site.  I’m holding a SCA sewing class on the 10.03.07 for people who want to make their own garb.

Fiction note:  Working slowly.  Had to work on Akichan’s laptop and NeoOffice takes some getting used to – the shortcuts are all different (or not there).

Fiction Frustration

February 12, 2007 at 19:39 (Uncategorized)

There was a hiccup in the power today in CT at about 10H30/11H00.  I was busy sorting some stuff when the lights dimmed and the computer made a popping noise then silence.  And silence for the rest of the day because I couldn’t get the machina back on.

Valantine’s Day – a day I dislike more than any other.  I’m not talking about the retail side or the fact that it is a courting ritual but the use of it by some people – I worked with a young lady who’s partner would smack her around sometimes BUT it was okay because he took her to dinner on Vday.  You can treat your partner like shit all year and repent on Vday.

Fiction note:  The dungeon has taken away my computer access (apparently MSWord uses bandwidth), this means I study Japanese/Communication Science more but write way less owing to lack of machina.  This also means I have no music to listen to and have to hear the noise from a coffee shop that involves shouting, bell ringing, loud Afro/Euro beat music and what sounds like an alarm clock (I think it’s the timer on the oven).  And today well, nothing happened as machina let me down.  So… that’s the way it is – home writing that is a lot slower.
