When Bakuman first came out it was loaded with information about manga artists and the manga world but ultimately it is a girl  manga with male leads – so boring.  And the artwork is not up the usual standard of the mangaka.  The writer/artist duo are famous and that is how they managed to slip a girl manga into a boy manga publication.  It appears to be hugely popular though but then so is One Piece.

And Air Gear is now a weekly read.  For all its nothingness, I enjoy it.

I have noticed a rather strange phenomenon about girl and boy manga on some of the forums I frequent – if you go to a person’s favourites and see lots of girl manga, so often it’s a guy.  And so many guys that I speaken to [on forums and face to face]  “can’t handle” FMA.  I prefer my men to like fighting and swearing over romantic sap.

On Wednesday night I went to the Community Chest Carnival.  It was probably the best one I have been to.  Everyone was so chilled – eating and drinking, chatting.  Great evening even if some people can’t hold their drink and splash it over everyone else  

Hopefully next time I post it will be to say “I’m in Mossel Bay” but we shall see.

I get annoyed when I can’t read the furigana – I don’t know that many kanji… It makes translating hard and time consuming.

Still in a state of limbo… possible moving tomorrow.

The shop is moving from a physical location to a virtual one.  There are many reasons which I’m not going to go into here but in the end it’s just easier and cheaper this way.  There is going to be a ‘closing’ sale over the next couple of months so if there is anything you really want, now is the time to get it.

My entire weekend was wasted – migraine.  I wanted to finish a ST article and finish GITS SAC 2nd GIG but with no ability to look at computer/TV screens or read anything, I was reduced to laying in the dark all weekend.  Polo loved it because he got to sleep on me – he is a very heavy cat and generates a lot of heat.

Juushin Enbu is the third manga to make me cry.

I finally found some Juushin Enbu. Fourteen RAWs and seven translations; no scanalations though but I do have three scanalations already. Hmmm… I’ve been waiting so long.

A sure way to not find what you are looking for to place the search criteria in the ‘without these words’ slot.

I have drunk so much coke today but I just can’t get enough of it down my throat. And I was doing so well…

My shoe broke. I taped it up in an attempt to wear it to the Spar. It would have worked if I hadn’t walked in it.

Sometime this morning I said I was thinking about writing the tourneyof the past event as a story all Japanese like so  I set about it this afternoon.  I’ve been working on it solidly since three this afternoon and I’m finally finished.  Making up poems to set styles is a lot more time consuming than I originally though.  At eleven, I think there are sufficient poems to portray the events.  I’m going to go over them tomorrow again and see if any need improving.  [EDIT 01.07.09 Here...]

I recieved my new textbook this morning from Kalahari.  Not only was it R100 cheaper but they delivered to my door – it was nice.  I’m only waiting for the out of print next book to be reprinted and then I’ll have them all. 

Due to delays in moving I’m sort of living out a box…
