*sigh*
I’m going away for the weekend and was hoping that Naruto would be out early so I could read it before I go but no such luck.
Japanese reading review for Monday – pass is 85%.
Oishii!
Went for Korean BBQ on Friday night – it was so cool and very tasty. I really like the idea of cooking your own meat – that way you can get it exactly the way you like it, then pile it on rice and wolf it down
Definitely going again and it wasn’t to badly priced either – about R100 per person but in future I’ll probably share with some one as you get meat, rice, soup and a bunch of things you can fry or eat with your meal.
Naruto this week was rather cool again but I really can’t wait for Hagaren. Aki-chan and I were talking the other day and both of us are pretty sure Square is going to do something about a FFVII remake. Just before the season rush they’ll announce the release of the remake or something like that – there it will be on the shelves for everyone. Though if they are thinking about a remake for the PS3 I can also see why they would wait until XIII came out, make sure everything is okay before redoing a title of such popularity.
Year end
As a kid I always used to look forward to the end of the year – it was great; a long school break, presents and starting a new standard at school which meant new stationery.
However, this year timing isn’t that good. Apart from Unisa exams, I’m also ending my current Japanese book so will have to do tests for that as well. Luckily I managed to move the written test till November as all my Unisa exams are in October.
There is word that there is a new title for XIII at TGS this year – apparantly it’s called Melody XIII with some weird logo. Aki-chan and I think it’s a fake – it looks really shit. On a side note, FFVII CC came out this week but only in Japan. And it is selling really well: 300 000+ games (including Limited Edition FFVII PSP Slim) on day one.
I may be a poor student again but with my extra time I’ve been able to learn a piece of music from FMA
My wabbing the other day resulted in me starting a Square Enix site but in my fashion of wanting to put as much as possible about Square on it, I’ve discovered a shit load of stuff about Square as well as Enix and the PILES of games they have made – some of which have never been released out side Japan. Though some were released they were given different titles. I did know that Square did other stuff but the amount of stuff was surprising.
Fiction note: meh, nothing much. Playing with old fiction and fixing up mistakes in moments of distraction.
Naruto
I really love it when plot elements come together. I especially like it when something that was mentioned ages ago turns out to be the thing that strings it together. And it is doubly cool when it involves Uchiha – such happiness
I got my machine back – yay. Now I can catch up with all my tasks.
Holy Hell Alchemist!
What a revelation in Hagaren. It’s a shock for sure. Ha ha, but awesomely cool. My thoughts are a whirl, bumping into each other – I may have to read it again…
Knowledge lacking
There is a word for when you are supposed to be doing something but you are doing something completely unrelated – I recognise it when people say it only I can’t remember it right now.
Point being I’ve been doing that all day. However, I feel it’s not completely unrelated as I’m using the computer so if I wanted to I could start at any moment. The equipment is all set up and ready to go.
On the plus side I found out what IRC stands for so it wasn’t a total waste of a day. And I can across unundead zombies.
Deep calming breaths
I needed to do this a few of times yesterday – first was when I died after a lengthy boss battle in VIII, second was when I dropped VIII’s CD case onto the drawer causing it to close on the CD. The CD is scratched; PS didn’t want to read it – that was number three. It was followed by number four when the PS refused to read any CD. Shut down, cool down and reboot – it works! The last one was when I had to do some Chocobo chasing in VII – I handed the task over to Aki-chan and kept my thoughts to myself. After that the rest of the day was really great. I’m pretending VII is a GBA game that way the graphics don’t get to me
Though those two girls (Aeris and Tifa) drive me crazy – they just don’t listen to me.
Two days till Hagaren RAW!
Oh, the cleverness of me…
My dearly beloved, you are always on my mind
Hand in hand we walk in Andante
Isn’t it lovely to be floating in bliss
I would fight to the death for you
Beyond the door are fragments of sorrow
Lost in the sinister sundown
What lies beneath the night of fate
Tension rising among the corrupted
Strange whispers in the night of the cursed
And my desire for all that is lost
Will give me courage to find the friends in my heart
Dive into the heart; the darkness of the unknown
Treasured memories of monochrome dreams
I’ll be missing you at the end of the world
Though, I suppose it’s only clever if you know that they are the titles of KHI and KHII OSTs
Submit
I submitted myself to the pharmachist and presented the evil within me. She gave me some potions that are really working. I should have done this weeks ago but I had to get over my stubborness relating to medication. At least now I can breath properly and hopefully get some decent sleep and not be completely worn out after Japanese tomorrow.
The down side to buying a store that you work in is that you have to do all the stock counting and consoladating. On the plus side you know exactly how many hundreds of scarves, brooches or hair clips you will have. The evening bags weren’t to bad but there is way too much ornamentation in the store. Stuff I’ve been dusting for almost two years and not selling. Once something has been on the shelf for six months you have to move it on – either as a sale item or in the stock room and bring out the following season. But some things just have to go – funny puppies with glasses and masses of fairy/angel things are some of those things.
I’m actually doing some research on components of language (phonology, morphology, semantics (this one I know), syntactics and pragmatics) but lots of reading is required and I’m kind of dopey at the moment. Breathing well in a lazy kind of way.
Fiction note: I wrote a poem in my lunch break today.
The skeleton tree in the dark of the night
Keeps away the darkness with a haunting twilight
Shadows cast and shadows thrown
Tread softly among the unknown
Be prepared to guard and fight
For all that your heart tells is right
Be at peace within your heart
My love for you will never part
